Germany
counts with three natural regions: an ample
plain located in the north of the country,
a region of plateaus in the center and a
mountain region in the south of the country.
In the southwest of the country is the wooded
region of the Black Forest and the Bavarian
Plateau, being located in this last highest
top of the country, the Zugspitze, with
2,962 meters. The most important rivers
of Germany are the Elba, Oder, Rhin and
Danube. It has a tempered climate, however,
the regions of the north are - due to marine
climate and its little height- something
warmer than the high regions of the center
and the south of the country. The summers
usually are smooth with a temperature average
of 18°C, whereas winter, on the contrary,
they are rather cold, with an average temperature
of 0°C and snowed in mountains.
One
third-part of the country is covered with
forests, which, two thirds are formed by
coniferous. The Bavarian Forest is the greater
mountain forest of Europe. In the southwest
of the country also excel the vineyards,
which are, in addition, in the shores of
the rivers Mosela, Rhin and Main.
Coastal
zone
In front to the coast are several islands,
between which are the Northern islands Frisias,
the islands Frisias Eastern and Helgoland
in North Sea and Fehmarn and Rügen,
in Baltic Sea.
Near
the German western coast of North Sea are
seven small, inside islands like per. The
island of Borkum is ideal for vacations
in family. The Juist characterizes by its
length and extraordinary beauty, whereas
the island of Wangerooge is well-known by
its bath.
